Catherine Matheson

Catherine Matheson is an award-winning journalist and communications strategist with over 30 years of experience. She worked in radio, television, print, and digital media before becoming a recognized authority in crisis communications and public affairs. She is a Fellow of Emergency Media and Public Affairs (EMPA) in Australia. Her contributions to government and private sector communications were recognized with MarComm Platinum and Gold awards. She has also earned a Canadian Community Newspaper Award.

After decades of news reporting and coordinating corporate communications that often included wildfire and other emergency response efforts, Catherine shifted her investigative focus to the unseen. She is the creator, researcher, producer and voice behind The Grandmother Stories, a podcast that ran for two seasons (2023 and 2024). It is still gathering an organic audience; it is followed by an international audience, and has more than 4,000 downloads to date across three platforms. Her Substack, Stories of Ancient Wisdom, is a digital hearth with over 15,000 views to date.  

Catherine's mystical talents are balanced by her creative and technical ability. She enjoys delivering prose and audio projects from her professional home studio.
